Our Sires
The sires of our Angus breeding herd have mainly been purchased from Matauri, Waitawheta, and Stokman Angus studs with Mytty In Focus bred sires having the biggest influence.
Our embryos came from Maungahina Speckle Park Stud, which carry some of the best genetics available in New Zealand. The owners of Maungahina have made numerous trips to Canada to carefully select embryos from the best cattle to establish their stud. The embryos we sourced from Maungahina in 2015 resulted in eight calves – three bulls and five heifers. It’s through those pedigree bloodlines that Korako continues to build our Speckle Park herd on.
Harbourside Renwick
Harbourside Rennick is now 6 years old and is still a very sound bull. We have our third third crop of calves by him out of our Angus cows this year. He colour marks well and has never thrown a black calf and he has a great temperament.
Maungahina Kiwi
Maungahina Kiwi was top priced bull at Maungahina's 2016 bull sale. He was used on our young cows and 2yr calving Angus heifers with only one requiring assistance at calving.
